The Newton County Landfill on Lower River Road accepts Newton County waste only, enforced by ordinance and checked at the gate with documentation. So a job in Covington, Oxford, Porterdale, Mansfield or Newborn routes there. A job in Conyers cannot — Rockdale County has operated no landfill since 1993 and its recycling centre does not admit commercial haulers. Walton County work goes through the Monroe transfer station on Cherry Hill Road or the construction and demolition landfills along US-78. Morgan County has its own landfill on the Athens Highway. DeKalb has Ellenwood.
